Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Overview :
Were looking for a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide online services to K12 students across Texas. This role focuses on helping students with visual impairments access the general curriculum and develop the skills they need to succeed. Youll collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers, while using virtual tools and assistive technology to deliver instruction and support.
Schedule & Hours :
Full-time, aligned with the district calendar
Daily schedule coordinated with elementary, middle, and high school start times
Virtual services provided to students across multiple campuses
Caseload :
Serving K12 students across several districts or schools
Many students may be identified under Multiple Disabilities, often resulting in smaller caseloads
Caseload may be shared if a students primary disability is not VI
Responsibilities :
Deliver direct and consultative services virtually to students with visual impairments
Adapt curriculum and materials into accessible formats (Braille, large print, digital, and assistive technology)
Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure access and progress toward IEP goals
Participate in virtual IEP meetings and contribute progress reports and recommendations
Maintain documentation in line with state and district requirements
Requirements :
Valid Texas teaching certificate with an endorsement in Visual Impairments (or eligibility to obtain)
Experience serving K12 students preferred
Strong knowledge of accessibility tools and assistive technology
Skilled at delivering services and collaborating through virtual platforms
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
