Position DescriptionMetro Consulting Associates, LLC. (“MCA”) is looking for a Survey Technician to join our team! MCA is a multifaceted energy, land, and community development engineering and surveying firm serving public and private clients thought the Midwest. The Survey Technician is responsible for using AutoCAD software to provide support to surveyors by performing a variety of design / drafting activities, including construction layouts, detail topographic drawings, and other survey related sketches and diagrams.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Produce drawings using computer assisted design / drafting equipment and software.
• Review and analyze sketches, notes, and verbal information to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.
• Process field crew survey data.
• Conduct trips to field to clarify / verify survey data or assist field staff as necessary.
• Prepare base survey mapping.
• Create stakeout data for construction layout.
• Revise and / or modify drawings as necessary.
• Maintain project point database files.
• Plot, organize and assemble project related documents.
• Develop, understand, and follow project budgets and schedules.
• Duties as assigned by Project Manager.
