Income Tax Accountant I
The Income Tax Accountant I is primarily responsible for assisting in the planning and preparation of income tax returns, quarterly tax estimates, and relevant tax calculations. This position also supports other departments with all income tax related matters, responds to notices from tax authorities, and general ledger analysis. The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and the desire to expand their knowledge in taxation of partnerships.
Essential Functions
Assists in the preparation and filing of the operating LLC and S Corporation federal tax returns.Maintains adequate records and workpapers supporting tax positions.Prepares quarterly income tax estimates and the related remittance vouchers.Analyzes general ledger details to ensure proper classification of posted transactions.Files federal and state and local income tax returns for 40+ real estate holding LLC's / LP's.Researches legislative materials to identify new filing obligations and compliance exposure.Responds and resolves tax notices and / or information requests from tax authorities.Maintains and updates fixed assets and related reconciliations / rollforwards.Prepares apportionment schedules for multi-state filing entities.Special projects as assignedPlease note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
