Responsibilities Work on a 30-bed Med / Surg Telemetry unit specializing in orthopedic surgical cases, including total joint replacements, TIA, and stroke workups Care for medical-surgical and orthopedic post-op patients with a variety of drips such as Lasix and Heparin Utilize specialized equipment including wound vacs, JP drains, colostomies, nephrostomy tubes, NG tubes, rectal tubes, suprapubic catheters, gtubes, jtubes, and central lines Oxygen modalities used include nasal cannula, high flow cannula, Bipap (night only), non rebreather, venturi mask, and capnography with PCA pumps Support staff includes PCTs and health unit coordinators 12-hour night shifts required Responsibilities include complex assessment, medication administration, and multidisciplinary care planning for adult Med / Surg Tele and ortho patients Frequent use of specialized lines / drains and multiple oxygen delivery methods Daily collaboration with a team including PCTs and unit clerical staff Candidates will receive an EKG study guide prior to on-site testing Orientation and EPIC training provided as needed Must cover required holidays as scheduled Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Strong orthopedic nursing experience required Must pass a dysrhythmia / EKG exam on first day (study guide provided, 2 attempts allowed) Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627744.
