Must-Have :

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery

Traveler experience accepted for first-time travelers

Experience in antepartum, labor and delivery, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care

Description :

This position requires skilled nursing care in the Labor and Delivery specialty.

RNs are expected to assist with sterile speculum exams and fetal monitoring procedures.

They will manage IV therapy, draw blood, and administer medications including anticonvulsants and Pitocin.

RNs will conduct high-risk deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and respond to postpartum emergencies.

Neonatal care including APGAR scoring, infant stabilization, and education on infant care is fundamental.

Pain management techniques, including epidurals and IV sedation, will be utilized.

Postpartum care will involve managing vaginal deliveries and C-sections as well as multiple birth scenarios.

RNs must follow isolation precautions and support vaccine administration.

The unit maintains a care ratio of 1 : 1-2 for labor and 1 : 3-4 for postpartum care.

This role includes working in a community hospital with a focus on a low-risk maternal and neonatal population.

Staff will care for an expected increase in births with 80 per month projected in the near future.

Units are equipped with standard LDRP and C-section surgical equipment.

Travelers must be comfortable floating based on unit needs.
