Role and Team

Reporting to the Body Shop Manager or designated supervisor, the Refinish Technicians perform limited preparation work (tape, paper, clean, and remove and reinstall parts) to damaged vehicles prior to painting while maintaining high standards for efficiency and observing all safety requirements.

Perform all additional duties assigned by the designated supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Reviews estimates and understands the scope of repair
• Inspects body repairs to ensure standards are met
• Tapes surface areas and parts with precision to minimize tapelines and overspray
• Applies masking paper as necessary
• Parts removal and reassembly as required
• Performs final surface cleaning and preparation for proper adhesion
• May block and sand repair areas as needed
• Prime, edge, and jam replacement parts as requested
• Learns to mix paint as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.

• The physical activity requirements of the position range from Light to Medium Physical Work.
