Job Title: Marketing & Design Manager

Position Summary:

Pete’s Fresh Market (PFM) is a family owned and operated supermarket and one of the leading independent grocers in the greater Chicagoland area. With 17 established locations and more on the way, PFM is looking to bring on motivated and knowledgeable leaders to the Pete's Team. This position will be focused on the following objectives:

• Increase PFM brand awareness and preference
• Aid profitability by implementing and analyzing marketing initiatives to build market share, improve retention, and increase average basket size
• Attract new target markets in addition to maintain existing customer base
• Stay on top of new trends
• Communicate with corporate leadership team, buyers, and store managers to execute in-store events, sales campaigns, and programs

Demonstrate Pete’s Market Four Pillars: Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Service.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Coordinate weekly ad creation with buyers and external printing company designers
• Manage website content and update social media posts
• Create graphic design for all posters, flyers, menus, in-store TV content, marquee, and private labels
• Manage a team of designers that create marketing collateral and update weekly sales ads
• Plan and manage yearly event calendar (major holidays, demonstrations and promos, radio events, educational activities, and grand openings)
• Assist with interior design and in-store graphics
• Build and manage the monthly store newsletter
• Provide merchandising direction
• Ensure the creative material produced is of the highest quality and represents a consistent brand image, message, and tone throughout
• Ability to provide clear direction and articulate our vision to all levels within the company

Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as apparent or as assigned

Education, Certifications, and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in marketing, graphic design, or related field
• Minimum 3+ years of experience
• Graphic design experience preferred (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Web design experience a plus (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, Drupal CMS)
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Excellent fluency with the English language (grammar, spelling, and strong writing skills); fluent in Spanish language is a plus
• Copy writing and editing experience is a plus
• Self-motivated and ambitious
• Demonstrate leadership skills
• Ability to wear “many hats” and be flexible
• Photography and/or video production skills not required, but a plus
• Must have a reliable source of transportation
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, able to resolve complex issues in creative ways

Must be able to work a flexible schedule with various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as determined by the business needs

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

· Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequent use of hands for squeezing motion, bending and twisting wrists, sitting at a desk for extended periods of time, walking, turning, reaching, stooping/bending, squatting, lifting/carrying objects 5 to 40 lbs., hand to eye coordination; occasional lifting objects over 40 lbs., climbing ladders, stooping and crawling.

Starting hourly rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and will vary based on things like location, experience, and qualifications. All positions are eligible for Overtime, and some positions will have guaranteed Overtime available.

Salary Range is 75k-85k
