Job description

Hilco Diligence Services Position

This individual will perform diligence, field examination and certain specified procedures at companies that have or are looking to obtain an asset-based loan and / or are the target of a proposed M&A transaction. Responsibilities include performing all procedures required for Hilco to issue a report such as : management interviews; analytical review / examination accounts receivable, inventory, trade payables and other relevant financial or operational information; evaluation of receivable and inventory controls; as well as physical inspection of inventory and facilities for retail, wholesale, and manufacturing.

This position requires 20-40% travel to client locations primarily in North America. Travel to foreign countries may occur.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; Accounting Degree or CPA a plus
  • 2-10 years financial analysis experience or accounting-related field (actual level will be commensurate with candidate's experience).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and familiarity with Access a plus)
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fundamental accounting knowledge. Candidate should have a good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong quantitative, analytical skills and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet aggressive deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manufacturing, retail, commercial lending or accounting experience a plus

Experienced Candidates Additional Requirements

  • Ability to manage a project team
  • Experience training, coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • This position requires excellent attention to detail. The individual must be able to focus on important areas in a very detailed manner, yet maintain the "big picture"
  • The ability to balance several projects and tasks simultaneously while not compromising the quality of the work product
  • Ability to plan engagement timelines and meet deadlines
  • An ability to interact with the senior management of client companies while gathering highly sensitive, confidential, and critical "subjective" information
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential to maintain a professional relationship with clients, lenders, other professionals and the Hilco team
