The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects. This individual will collaborate with the project management team, subcontractors, design team, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This individual will work out of our Carlsbad office.

Responsibilities
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
- Collaborate with Project Manager to develop project timelines and milestones
- Prepare, maintain and track project correspondence and documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, subcontracts, payment applications, purchase orders, invoices, insurance, submittals, RFIs, ASIs, change estimates, change orders, project logs, etc.
- Generate regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues that may arise
- Implement and enforce quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure construction standards are met
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality
- Maintain clear, open and effective communication with project team members, subcontractors, and clients
- Attend project meetings and document meeting minutes and provide updates on project status and progress
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed by the business
Qualifications
Must have recent GC experienceProven work experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction with familiarity with the various tradesAbility to read jobsite drawings of various disciplines and assist with estimating dutiesMust be able to complete Quantity Take-offsProficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and OutlookMust have experience in Procore and BluebeamResults-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work tasks to meet deadlinesExcellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; communicates effectively with management, employees, customers, and vendorsHigh level of motivation, integrity, and commitment to team and customersStrong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional workDemonstrates the ability to tactfully handle difficult situationsDemonstrates good judgment in investigating problemsAbility to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to complex projectsMust be able to work in fast-paced environment and able to quickly adapt and adjust to address the needs of the project and customerPhysical Demands
