Overview
The IT Application Analyst II is responsible for developing and deploying integrated solutions aimed at modernizing, consolidating, and coordinating the department and enterprise applications, systems, and platforms. They determine how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, Web interfaces, and / or hardware logic, which may be currently operating on multiple platforms, work together to meet new and emerging enterprise requirements.
Responsibilities
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Oracle, Java, .Net, and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Stays current on emerging application software technologies, as appropriate for the applications supported
- Participates in application evaluation, development, design, installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
- Manages development of applications and information systems
- Monitors applications for compliance with IT standards and policies
- Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of methods and techniques for evaluating software application requirements
- Participates with other IT team members in requirements definitions, identifying end-user operational customer service delivery needs
- Assists in developing functional specifications used to procure and deploy specialized applications
- Provides technical expertise and assistance in designing and developing applications
- Plans, oversees, and documents all aspects of assigned intermediate-sized projects using enterprise project management tools
- Works closely with management and stakeholders to ensure project scope and direction are on schedule
- Provides support for application development and implementation for medium to high complexity
- Collaborates with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions
- Aligns solutions with business and IT strategies that comply with the organization's architectural standards
- Analyzes system capacity and modifies procedures to solve interface problems
- Installs and configures business software applications
- Provides reports for customers and staff using enterprise reporting tools such as SAP Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft Power BI, IBM Cognos, Tableau, and Dashboard Gear
- Organizes and conducts conference calls and prepares documents based on status meetings
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain efficiency, consistency, and successful implementation of applications
- Creates standard procedures for applications
- Prepares and presents change management items
- Performs other related duties as required
