SUMMARY : Primarily responsible for maintaining, measuring, and evaluating the effectiveness of the quality management system to assure products and services meet or exceed VSE Aviation quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accountable for leading annual internal and 3rd party audits.
- Ensures QMS processes are established, implemented, and properly maintained, including the oversight and control of all documents and data related to the requirements of the QMS system.
- Manages quality metrics, trends and activities to improve cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Develops written quality plans by conducting analyses, identifying critical control points, and implementing preventive measures and verification procedures.
- Accountable for assessing customer satisfaction by conducting an annual customer satisfaction survey and overseeing customer complaints and product returns.
- Is the "Voice of the Customer" in the organization by ensuring employees throughout the organization are aware of customer requirements and how they affect how well the company satisfies those requirements.
- Contributes to a quality culture of root cause analysis and corrective action to prevent future escapes and continuously improve the quality management system and overall customer satisfaction.
- Supports the analysis of supplier performance metrics to recommend supplier approval / selection and sourcing decisions.
- Ensures the interaction of processes is maintained and optimized, including discussions with process owners and in-person process reviews.
- Reports on QMS performance to top management identifying any needs for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree; 7 years of relevant / technical work experience and 4-7 years of leadership experience, or an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 : 2015, FAA 0056B, and / or AS9120.Audit experience, particularly with ISO 9001 and / or AS9100 Quality / Quality Management.Ability to self-manage, set priorities, and demonstrate follow-through.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).Ability to travel to VSE facilities.Preferred Requirements
10+ years of experience in quality and compliance.8+ years of aviation experience.8+ years of leadership experience.Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Risk Management, quality or quality auditor certifications.Knowledge of Quantum Control Software.Other
