Production Control Supervisor

Summary : This position has overall responsibility for planning and organizing the manufacturing output of the Englewood, Colorado facility.
The Production Control Supervisor is responsible for the master production schedule and leads planning and scheduling of detailing, engineering and manufacturing by organizing customer orders into detailed production schedules.
Ensure resource optimization, minimal downtime, and on-time product delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with overall business objectives.
Monitor schedules, make necessary adjustments, and proactively address capacity constraints. Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of quality products in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions :
- Production Planning and Scheduling : 60%
- Utilize the ERP system and other sources of data to develop the master production schedule.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive production plan based on customer orders, forecasted demand, and inventory levels.
- Collects & analyzes data to identify capacity requirements. Prioritize production orders and allocate resources to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Suggests solutions to capacity and scheduling challenges.
- Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual production forecasts related to materials, production capacity, resource availability, plan to actual reports, and lead times in partnership with operations.
- Provides reports and presents information to leadership to allow for informed decision making.
- Maintains and monitors workflows and metrics to ensure schedule attainment and on time completion and delivery.
- Directs production planning and coordinates with the supporting departments to schedule material releases, allocate resources, and minimize production downtime.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in materials management and recommend innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordination and Communication : 30%
- Collaborate with various departments including sales, operations, project management, engineering / detailing, and manufacturing to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
- Work with cross-functional areas to identify capacity constraints and develop / implement risk mitigation plans.
- Communicate any schedule changes to relevant departments and mitigate potential impacts.
- Act as a point of contact for all queries related to production schedules.
- Inventory Management : 5%
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorders to avoid production delays and stockouts.
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to optimize material flow to the production lines.
- Reporting and Analysis : 5%
- Maintain records of production data, including volume produced, resources used, and production timelines.
- Analyze production metrics and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare regular reports for management on production status and inventory levels.
Education and Experience :
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a planner or scheduler in a manufacturing setting
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations
- Proficient with ERP systems, such as NetSuite
- Experience with Load versus Capacity planning
- Exposure to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes
- Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or additional experience in planning and operations preferred.

Office / Plant environment. Noise volume varies from loud to normal. Position works part-time in the manufacturing facility including dust, fumes, and heat.
