Mid Level Controls Engineer
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing PLC / HMI solutions for process monitoring and control applications .
Converge Resources is currently seeking an experienced Mid Level Controls Engineer to fill an opening with an engineering & design client located in Houston, TX .
The ideal candidates should have experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and commissioning PLC / HMI and SCADA applications with products such as Allen Bradley, Schneider, MapleSystems, Ignition, etc.
Requirements of the Mid-Level Controls Engineer :
- BS in Electrical, Controls, or Systems Engineering; or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and commissioning PLC / HMI and SCADA applications with products such as Allen Bradley, Schneider, MapleSystems, Ignition, etc.
- Experience using AutoCAD software
- Experience reading and interpreting ladder logic.
- Experience with integrating devices from multiple vendors into a packaged solution.
- Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems and software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a group setting, team-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven.

Responsibilities of the Mid-Level Controls Engineer :
- Experience with designing and commissioning control systems for groundwater, surface water, and wastewater utility systems (preferred)
- Developing PLC / HMI solutions for process monitoring and control applications.
- Able to read and write programs for various control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, SCADAPack, etc.)
- Able to read and interpret technical documentation (P&IDs, ladder logic, function block code, schematics, loop sheets, manuals, etc.)
- Defining control system designs and documentation.
- Reviewing control system designs with clients.
- Process simulation.
- Specifying and purchasing hardware / software as required by the project.
- Supporting the development of software standards for modular, scalable, and reusable solutions.
- Assisting in start-up services, troubleshooting, and training for commissioned systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
