The Station on Kings is a vibrant bakery, cafe, garden center, and retail space all under one roof. We are located in a coastal beach town which is very busy in the summer and increasingly busy in the off-season, as the area has been growing steadily. We have a dedicated year-round clientele at the bakery and we are also a destination for tourists, who are largely coming from the DC, NYC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia areas.
The bakery is the heart of our operation, showcasing the creativity and talent of our team.
We're on the hunt for a new Executive Pastry Chef who can bring their own unique style, help us continue to grow, and thrive in our very busy, dynamic environment. If you like the idea of leading our pastry team and making your mark, we'd love to hear from you.
The perfect candidate will have at least 1 year of experience leading a team in either a bakery or pastry department of a restaurant, as the Executive Pastry Chef, Sous Pastry Chef, or similar role. This person should have experience with a range of professional baking and pastry fundamentals and techniques including cakes, viennoiserie, fillings, pies, various doughs, etc. We are looking for someone who wants to explore seasonal flavors utilizing local ingredients and build on our range of both rustic and finer pastries.
This is a day time position, The Station closes at 4pm in the off-season and 6pm in the summer, nights are typically not necessary. Although we are very busy during the holidays, we are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
For the right person, moving expenses will be covered, as will 2 months free rent in a furnished apartment, with an additional year available at a reduced rate after those 2 months are up. This is a brand new space on the property, in town Lewes, which is highly sought after.
