We’re seeking a Manual Grinding Operator to join a precision manufacturing team in Houston, TX (77003) . The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with manual cylindrical grinding machines and takes pride in delivering top-quality, tight-tolerance work.
What You’ll Do :
- Set up and operate manual OD and / or ID grinders (examples : Cincinnati, Landis, Norton, Okamoto, Toyoda).
- Grind and finish cylindrical parts to exact customer specifications.
- Use micrometers, gauges, and blueprints to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Report deviations and assist with process improvements.
- Perform basic liquid penetrant inspections when required.
- Operate jib and overhead cranes safely.
- Conduct routine maintenance and keep your workstation organized.
- Participate in ongoing training and demonstrate steady progress toward independent operation.
What We’re Looking For :
Strong background in manual grinding (not CNC-only).Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and dependable.Experienced Operators : 1+ year of grinding or machining experience.Trainees : High school diploma or GED; 4 weeks of paid, supervised training provided.Must have (or be willing to acquire) personal hand tools – payroll deduction program available.Pay & Advancement :
