Box is transforming how enterprises secure and leverage their most valuable content. Shield Threat Protection is our fastest-growing security product, delivering advanced detection and response to protect millions of users and their sensitive data across the Box Content Cloud. We're seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team building the core detection engines and platform capabilities that keep our customers safe in the age of AI.

In this critical role, you'll own the technical strategy and execution for enterprise-grade threat detection at massive scale. You'll guide a distributed team to deliver high-availability services, partner closely with product and infrastructure to evolve the Shield roadmap, and cultivate an inclusive, high-performance culture grounded in technical excellence, innovation, and operational rigor.

Example :

• Lead and grow the engineering team responsible for Shield Threat Protection's core detection and response capabilities.
• Define and drive technical strategy and architecture for highly available, autoscaling services that protect enterprise content at scale.
• Deliver robust detection engines for malware, ransomware, and data exfiltration, along with real-time alerting dashboards and automated response workflows.
• Partner with Product and Infrastructure to shape the roadmap, prioritize outcomes, and align on scalable, secure designs.
• Establish strong engineering practices across CI / CD, observability, testing, and incident response to maintain 99.9%+ uptime.
• Mentor and develop engineers and managers, fostering an inclusive culture and clear structures that enable efficient, high-quality delivery.
• Integrate ML-driven anomaly detection pipelines with existing security systems to enhance precision and coverage.
• Engage with enterprise stakeholders to translate security requirements into scalable solutions that meet compliance and reliability standards.
• Manage and coordinate the team's on-call rotation to ensure timely and effective incident response, actively participate in escalated on-call incidents to provide leadership and support, and drive improvements by addressing recurring issues to minimize disruptions.
