With a pay range of $14.30-16.60 per hour with the expectation of 20-28 hours per week. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to grow alongside a dedicated team. The Aquatic Coordinator is responsible for leadership and advancement of the Aquatics Team as well as working direct service as a lifeguard on deck. This leader will assist the Director in overseeing the development and implementation of innovative curriculum and activities supervising guiding and developing staff to ensure that participants development occurs in a fun healthy and safe environment and ensuring program outcomes are consistently achieved.

Make a difference as an Aquatic Coordinator

As the Aquatic Coordinator at the West YMCA youll be the energetic leader responsible for scheduling and supervising lifeguards and swim instructors ensuring our aquatic programs run smoothly. Join us in filling in for absent staff when needed and help secure substitutes to maintain a safe environment for our community. Youll also assist in conducting lifeguard in-services and trainings equipping our team with the skills to excel. Collaborating with the Aquatic Director youll play a vital role in hiring coaching and disciplining staff while performing weekly safety checks to keep our pool safe and enjoyable.

Your organizational skills will shine as you assist with payroll duties and coordinate pool schedules. Additionally youll contribute to the development and implementation of our Aquatics programs communication and marketing strategies making this role both dynamic and impactful!

What were looking for in an Aquatic Coordinator

To thrive as the Aquatic Coordinator at the Y you must bring a blend of essential skills and certifications to the table. A minimum age of 21 along with a high school diploma is required. Your certified lifeguard status complete with up-to-date CPR First Aid AED and O2 certifications will ensure the safety of our aquatic patrons. Demonstrating initiative and good judgment is crucial as is your ability to make independent decisions in a dynamic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are key for public speaking engagements and preparing detailed reports.

Additionally your capacity to conduct engaging in-service programs will empower your team and enrich their training experience. If you possess these skills and a passion for creating a safe and enjoyable aquatic atmosphere this role is perfect for you!

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• Must be 21 years old
• High school graduate
• Certified Lifeguard with current CPR First Aid AED and O2 certificates or the ability to attain certifications in 60 days.
• Demonstrate proven ability to display initiative good judgment and ability to make decisions independently.
• Able to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills; public speaking and the ability to prepare reports and conduct in-service programs.
