Entry-level Network Engineer - Hybrid

The Network Administrator supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN. Builds and maintains network closet environment. Responsible for Layer 1 Infrastructure in the PHS Data Centers. Recommends and schedules repair. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

PLEASE NOTE : This Position Requires ITIL V3 Foundation, ITIL Capability certification in Operations. Support and Analysis or ITIL Lifecycle certification in Service Operations or must obtain within 6 months of date of hire. Responsibilities : Responsibilities :

• Installs, maintains, supports, enhances, and repairs data communications network hardware, Specifically for Layer I infrastructure
• Provides high level support to the cabling crews for the implementation of service requests relating to data network cabling infrastructure.
• Maintains an accurate inventory of the installed base of data network cabling infrastructure. This would also to include maintaining electronic records and / or documenting same.
• Maintain expertise in the use and maintenance of the data network cabling management system. Ensure that the network administrator is kept aware of all changes to the data network.
• Provides UPS maintenance and support
• Installs access level network hardware.
• Adheres to standards established by the data network team when installing new devices on the data network.
• Provides routine tier 2 production support working closely with the help desk to troubleshoot and repair LAN / WAN network problems.
• Maintains an accurate inventory of data network equipment with respect to production devices and spares inventory.
• Supports the Problem Resolution processes and meets expected timelines for ticket resolution, and closure.
• Performs production support for day to day operations and the resolution of problems.
• Supports the Change Management process and adheres to the Change Management guidelines.
• Travel as needed to support PHS Data Network.
