Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will handle essential financial operations and provide accurate accounting support for a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and skilled in managing financial records while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities :

Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.

Process invoices and manage bill payments, verifying details and resolving errors.

Handle accounts receivable tasks, including preparing invoices, resolving issues, and ensuring timely deposits.

Reconcile banking, credit card, brokerage, and retirement account transactions to ensure accurate treasury management.

Conduct investment and partnership accounting by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

Generate financial reports and perform analytical reviews using accounting software.

Process tax payments, ensuring compliance with deadlines and communicating cash needs to the team.

Organize payroll processes for household or business employees in accordance with established workflows.

Build and maintain strong relationships with external providers and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements :

Minimum of an associate degree in accounting or a related field; bachelor's degree preferred.

1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related role, with a focus on client service.

Proficiency in general ledger software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong skills in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and external stakeholders.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Familiarity with payroll processes and tax compliance procedures is a plus.
