ERP Change Manager
Lead the transformation. We're seeking an experienced ERP Change Manager to drive success in our organization's transition to a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system by leading and executing change management strategies specific to ERP selection, implementation, and adoption.
This role provides expert guidance and hands-on support to ensure stakeholders are prepared, engaged, and equipped throughout all phases of the ERP transition. You'll serve as a central coordination point for all change management activities related to the ERP project, aligning efforts with organizational goals. This position also supports the development of citywide change management tools and practices, contributing to the City's long-term capacity for managing organizational change.
This role requires a proven change management professional with specific experience leading ERP transitions and developing comprehensive change management plans that drive results in complex organizations.
What you bring : Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of change management experience (including ERP transitions), knowledge of change management methodologies, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Prosci certification and public sector experience are highly valued.
Position Details : This is a full-time, limited-duration role with full City of Boise employee benefits. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of annual renewal for up to 2-3 years, dependent on budget approval.

ERP Change Management Develops and implements comprehensive change management strategies for the ERP selection, implementation, and transition phases. Partners with project leadership, functional teams, and technical teams to ensure change management strategies align with the ERP project plan and organizational objectives. Monitors, evaluates, and reports on change management effectiveness specific to ERP adoption and user readiness. Designs and delivers change management activities including stakeholder assessments, communication plans, training programs, and resistance management plans to support ERP transition. Collaborates with functional leaders to identify impacts, develop mitigation strategies, and build a strong sponsorship coalition. Prepares leadership, managers, and impacted staff for system, process, and role changes. Provides direct coaching and support to senior leaders, ERP project sponsors, department managers, and super-users to promote change adoption. Advises project teams on incorporating change management strategies into overall ERP planning and execution. Ensures change efforts are coordinated with other project management, training, and communication activities. Builds strong working relationships with ERP project team members, IT, HR, Finance, and other impacted departments to align change management with technical and business process changes. Communicates change strategies and progress clearly to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and governance committees.
Organizational Change Management Support Collaborates with the Organizational Change Manager to strengthen citywide change management capabilities by contributing to the development of tools, templates, and methodologies. Assists in the design and facilitation of change management training, workshops, and coaching sessions to build organizational awareness and capacity. Participates in the advancement of a change management Center of Excellence by supporting knowledge sharing, developing case studies, and identifying best practices. Contributes lessons learned and insights from the ERP implementation to inform and refine enterprise-wide change approaches, tools, and frameworks. Supports internal consulting engagements as capacity allows, bringing change management perspective to non-ERP strategic initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Bachelor's degree in organizational development, public administration, business administration, psychology or a related field and five years of experience in change management, organizational development, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience. Experience leading change management initiatives for large-scale projects or programs. Experience leading change management for ERP transitions. Knowledge of : Organizational change management principles, methodologies and tools Contractual relationships with external vendors Computer usage including related software. Ability to : Implement change management frameworks in a complex organization Develop and implement strategic initiatives that deliver results Collaborate and partner authentically and strategically across functions to build trust, solve complex business problems and influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization Communicate effectively to diverse audiences, including executives, managers, supervisors, front-line staff and external partners Deliver effective training and presentations Coach, mentor and develop others Apply creative problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and seize opportunities for improvement Contribute to a continuous improvement culture within the department Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance Perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and / or manager with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training Master's degree in a related field OR ten years of experience in change management, organizational development, or a related discipline. Prosci Train-the-Trainer Certification and / or Prosci Change Management Practitioner Formal certification and experience in Lean Six Sigma Familiarity with public sector operations or local government functions.
Licensing And Other Requirements Valid state-issued driver's license.
