Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele contract position in Ohio requiring a compact or OH RN license and recent Epic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the MS / Tele unit within a hospital setting
  • Care is provided in the East Tower, including General Surgery, Trauma, Vascular, Wound, and Plastics departments
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week
  • Patient ratio is typically 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
  • Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity may be required
  • No on-call duty is expected
  • Uses Epic for electronic charting
  • Responsibilities include providing care for patients under General Surgery, Trauma, Vascular, Wound, and Plastics specialties
  • Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible
  • Current employees at any Ohio State University hospital are ineligible for travel positions
  • Locals are accepted at the same contract terms
  • All required time off must be provided during contract initiation
  • Urgent completion of Ohio fingerprinting is required upon contract signing

    • Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license must be in hand at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience is required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry, and intermediate level skills is required
  • Epic EMR experience is mandatory
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • At least 2 professional references required; 1 from a manager / director or formal leader, 2nd may be from a charge RN
