MSS ensures that all the mass spectrometers (55+ QqQ and Q-TOF), LC, SFC, and other related bioanalytical instruments are in good working order. The process is vital to the operational success of GBA and of preclinical, nonclinical, and clinical trials around the world. In this role, MSS personnel will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, help with installation, and perform IQ / OQ / PQ of bioanalytical equipment with minimum supervision, maintain a clean / safe lab, and ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

The GBA department’s expertise lies in the quantitation of small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, proteins, and biomarkers using various mass spec techniques. We have been pivotal in supporting most of the HIV / HBV / HCV, multiple ADCs, and 9 of the last 16 oligonucleotides therapeutics approved by FDA and EMA.

The Job

• Understand, evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair LC-MS / MS (QqQ) systems, LCs, and other associated bioanalytical equipment problems.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibration, and maintenance of the LC-MS / MS, LC, and other associated bioanalytical equipment.
• Perform software (IQ / OQ / PQ) validations on all new equipment.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts for MS and LC systems.
