Finance Operations Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) performs accounting and financial planning & analysis services, and our primary customers are Finance Operations, Central Accounting and other Amazon Finance teams.

FOAA seeks an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to support our accounting team based in Arlington, VA. This role will oversee transition of accounting activities and expansions from FOAA customers, perform month end close activities and reconciliations, support operational excellence initiatives, and improve controllership, while ensuring quality assurance;

all with strategic significance and high exposure. The ideal candidate must have superior attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

The ideal candidate comes with financial statement audit and corporate accounting experience, and who excels at problem solving, pays attention to details, and drives positive change by evaluating and streamlining existing operational and accounting processes, controls and metrics.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 4+ years of building financial and operational reports / data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 4+ years of financial statement audit or corporate accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • 4+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating / implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 4+ years of mentoring junior finance and / or business team members experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess,
  • 4+ years of financial statement audit or corporate accounting experience preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization
  • Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making
  • Certified accountant qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Project Management experience
  • Hands-on experience using Oracle ERP with Blackline system
