Job Summary
UC Davis Health is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide social work services to pediatric patients and their families in the Pediatric Endocrinology clinic. The LCSW conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, provides counseling and education, coordinates care, and connects families with community resources. This role supports patients and caregivers in coping with social, emotional, and practical challenges while promoting patient-centered care.
The LCSW works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, advocates for patient rights, and participates in quality improvement projects. Flexibility is required to adapt to changes in technology, regulations, and patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments for pediatric patients and families.
- Provide counseling, education, and support to patients and caregivers.
- Develop and implement treatment plans addressing social, emotional, and practical needs.
- Coordinate care and facilitate referrals to community resources.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Advocate for patient rights, including confidentiality and informed decision-making.
- Participate in special projects and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support departmental staffing needs and adapt to workflow or policy changes.

The Pediatric Endocrinology team at UC Davis Health, based in the Glassrock Pediatric Sub-specialty Clinics, provides comprehensive care for children and adolescents with endocrine disorders. Using a team-based, multidisciplinary approach, physicians collaborate with specialized nurses, social workers, dietitians, and diabetes navigators to deliver state-of-the-art care for patients with diabetes and other endocrine conditions.
As part of the Diabetes Educator Program , the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides case management, brief therapeutic interventions, supportive therapy, teaching, coaching, and education to patients and families. This role helps patients and caregivers navigate the emotional and practical aspects of managing endocrine conditions, supporting overall patient well-being and engagement in care.
