Responsibilities
- Ensure timely, complete, and accurate packaging of all loans originated
- Gather information and take each file from application to closing
- Verify loan documents including income, credit, appraisal, & title insurance
- Collect required documentation, review file documentation, and make sure all items need are requested
- Compiling real estate loan documentation and other general aspects of basic real estate loan preparation
- Work closely with loan officers to prepare loan packages for underwriting, closing, and funding
- Reviewing and processing knowledge of conventional, NIFA, USDA-Rural Development, and VA real estate mortgages
- Ensure that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, and complies with company policy
- Establish, maintain, and update files, databases, records, and other documents for recurring internal reports
- Balance real estate loans with realtor’s office(s)
- Set up loan closings with lender, and balance closing fees with Title Company, if applicable
- Create seller statement / closing disclosure. Process, close and remit loan file for funding.
- Sends or mails payoffs, documents for recording, items to title companies, and files to secondary market investors to ensure the proper documents are filed with the correct agencies in timely manner
- Miscellaneous customer service duties
- Act as a liaison between the borrower and loan originator
- Assist with scanning and uploading MPF loan documents into Byte system
- Contact and communicate with clients by telephone, e-mail or in-person, at the direction of the MLO
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering regulations, bank policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- 2-4 years of mortgage lending experience required
- Knowledge of real estate lending industry, including RESPA, TRID, HMDA, etc.
- Knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures preferred
- Prior mortgage processing experience with setting up mortgage files / loan applications, ordering appraisals, title work, surveys, and other documentation from borrowers is required
- Experience with Byte, Laser Pro, Compliance One software preferred
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail and excellent data entry skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality
