Electrical Engineer
Position Purpose
Design lighting, power distribution, and low voltage systems for commercial, industrial, and military construction of varying building types. The Electrical Engineer will work independently and as part of a team. They will be required to effectively convey technical information, collaborate with team members, and communicate with clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities __

- Electrical design, including lighting, power, and systems, using Revit for modeling.
- Travel to job sites for verifying existing conditions and data gathering.
- Coordinate with electric utility company representatives.
- Meet with clients to discuss project requirements.
- Conduct building assessments and prepare detailed reports.
- Ability to manage varied workload from one large project to several small projects, meeting all deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Competencies
Knowledge of building codes and standards, applicable to the electrical discipline, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, etcAbility to research and apply building codes and standards as updates are releasedKnowledge of lighting concepts, technologies, controls, calculations, and emergency lightingKnowledge of power distribution strategies, including generator-backed systems, load calculations, and short circuit conceptsGeneral knowledge of low voltage systems such as network cabling, nurse call, securityKnowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel and Word, necessary for design calculations and project narrativesSelf-motivated to collaborate with other disciplines to meet project deadlinesEffective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts in an understandable and concise wayCreative thinking to solve design issuesExcellent time management skills with the proven ability to work on multiple projects and stay within scope, schedule, cost and quality specificationsQualifications / Prior Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.5-10 years of experience in the fieldBachelor's degree in electrical engineering.5-10 years of experience in the field.Experience with electrical design of projects from initial concept to completion, including drawings, specifications, and design narratives.Experience with electrical building design, power distribution, and lightingPrefer Proficiency in AutoCAD and / or Revit, Power Tools for Windows (PTW) and / or Easy PowerPrefer FE or PE LicensurePrefer RCCD CertificationTravel : 5% - 10%Work Environment
