Pipe Shop Worker

Schedule :  Monday - Friday 7 : 30 am - 4 pm ,

Saturdays are worked on a rotating basis 7 am - noon (once every month and a half)

Pay Rate : $18 - $20 / hr, depending on experience

We are looking for a reliable and skilled individual to join our Fabrication Shop team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Pipe Fabrication Shop Worker to perform essential pipe preparation tasks in our outdoor fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating machinery to cut, groove, and thread various types and sizes of pipe according to client specifications and safety standards. This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate pipe cutting equipment (saws, torches, to accurately cut pipe to specified lengths.

Perform pipe grooving using rolling and cut grooving machines for coupling preparation.

Utilize pipe threading machines to create precise threads on pipe ends.

Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measuring instruments to ensure accurate fabrication.

Inspect finished pipe pieces for quality, compliance with specifications, and clean edges.

Maintain and perform minor routine maintenance on fabrication machinery.

Load and unload pipe materials, requiring the ability to lift heavy materials and / or operate material handling equipment (., forklift, overhead crane - certification or training a plus ).

Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Maintain a clean and organized work area in the outdoor shop.

Requirements

Proven experience working in a pipe fabrication or similar industrial shop environment is highly preferred .

Demonstrated ability to safely and effectively operate pipe cutting, grooving, and threading equipment .

Basic understanding of different pipe materials (., steel, PVC) and pipe sizing.

Ability to read a tape measure and calipers accurately.

Must be able to work effectively outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).

Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 and perform repetitive tasks.

Strong commitment to workplace safety .

High school diploma or equivalent.

Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $18.00 - $20.00
