Buildings and General Services at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity with room for growth as a Custodial Supervisor, with Operations and Maintenance. As part of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team you will work as part of a group and independently. This position serves the Capital District (Montpelier, VT), which includes the Vermont State House and many historic buildings. The Custodial Supervisor plans, organizes, and supervises work of the building custodians. They also participate in hiring, training, and evaluating custodial employees. The Custodial Supervisor may participate in work and perform more difficult tasks. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for keeping and reporting on custodial employees' time and leave requests. This position reports to the Senior Custodial Supervisor and District Facilities Manager. This is a full-time position, and the hours are 12pm - 8 : 30pm At BGS, you're contributing to a team that provides safe and healthy working environments for those that live and work in Vermont. The Department of Buildings and General Services (BGS) is a diverse organization with over 340 employees serving state agencies and departments within state Government. BGS provides the facilities services required for all state agencies and departments to accomplish their missions. As part of the Operations and Maintenance Division you will be an essential team member and part of the largest division in BGS. This Position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of background check. Although the full salary range for this position is provided, new hires are typically made at the salary range minimum.

Duties are performed during an assigned shift at one or more state owned or leased buildings. Cleaning work often involves addressing bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Incumbents must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50-lbs. is necessary. Overtime and evening work may be required.
