Position Summary
The Call Center Medical Assistant (MA) serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in ensuring each patient receives exceptional care and support.
This position provides both administrative and clinical coordination, offering an opportunity to contribute directly to the patient experience in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding customer service through inbound and outbound calls, addressing patient inquiries and requests with professionalism and empathy.
Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently based on provider availability and patient preference.
Educate patients about clinic procedures, services, insurance coverage, and pre-appointment requirements.
Listen attentively to patient concerns and work proactively to resolve issues, escalating as necessary.
Accurately record patient information, appointment details, and call interactions in the electronic health record (EHR).
Conduct follow-up calls to ensure patient satisfaction and continuity of care.
Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, administrative personnel, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA , and adhere to clinic policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
Required :
High school diploma or equivalent
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential through an accredited program
Athena One and Dialpad experience preferred
Required Skills & Abilities
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in EHR systems and healthcare software
Knowledge of insurance verification and basic medical billing processes
Strong understanding of patient privacy laws (HIPAA)
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Adept at multitasking, problem-solving, and maintaining professionalism under pressure
Physical & Working Conditions
Light work : exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time)
Possible exposure to contaminated needles or infectious body substances
Ability to work designated shift lengths (8–12 hours)
Prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, standing, bending, and movement
