Job Description

The Parts Manager at Houston Motorsports plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the parts department, directly impacting customer satisfaction and dealership profitability. This position is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of Powersports parts and accessories, ensuring that the right parts are available when needed. The Parts Manager leads a team of parts specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize performance and maintain high service standards. Additionally, this role involves collaborating closely with service and sales departments to forecast parts demand and manage vendor relationships effectively. Ultimately, the Parts Manager drives operational excellence by balancing cost control with exceptional customer service to support the overall success of the dealership.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in business or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in parts management or inventory control within the automotive or motorsports industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Powersports or Automotive parts, terminology, and inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for inventory tracking, ordering, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in a dealership environment, particularly in motorsports or automotive sectors.
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) and parts catalog software.
  • Certification from recognized automotive parts or service organizations.
  • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to parts handling and storage.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Manage daily operations of the parts department, including inventory control, ordering, receiving, and stocking of parts and accessories.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the parts team to achieve departmental goals and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with service and sales departments to anticipate parts needs and ensure timely availability to support vehicle repairs and sales.
  • Monitor parts inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess stock and reduce shortages.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on parts sales, inventory turnover, and profitability to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements within the parts department.

    The Parts Manager utilizes strong organizational and analytical skills daily to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure parts availability aligns with service demands.
