Salary : $25 / hr 8 hrs / week

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach (UUCLB) is a welcoming, justice-centered religious community. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Financial Coordinator to support our financial operations on average of 8 hours per week.The Financial Coordinator organizes various financial tasks with staff and mulitple volunteer stakeholders, including Finance and other Committee members, ensuring smooth financial operations and efficient execution for our growing congregation.

Key Responsibilities :

The Financial Coordinator coordinates the execution of the following financial tasks :

Accounts Payable : Process bill payments, reimbursements, and autopay arrangements.

Contribution & Pledge Management : Maintain accurate records for contributions, pledges, and special gifts; provide contribution reports for pledge drives.

Verification : Confirm Financial funds, events, etc. documentation is correct, input correct, and timely

Planning : Work with stakeholders to plan Financial and accounting requirements for fundraisers, events, other Church tasks

Troubleshooting : Investigate and resolve financial errors or inquiries.

Compliance : Guide adherence to relevant regulations and standards.

Execution : Auditing specific tasks to integral Applications

Other Duties : Perform additional finance-related tasks as assigned.

Skills

  • Two years Bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with accounting for churches and nonprofits a plus
  • Organizational Skills : Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain organized records.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with Quickbooks, online management database platforms (we are transitioning from Power Church to One Church CMS), Google suite, and Microsoft Excel
  • Adaptability : Ability to adjust to changing priorities and handle unexpected challenges.
  • Attention to Detail : Ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks
