Senior Safety Manager
Mortenson is looking for a Senior Safety Manager who will provide management, leadership, direction, and support within Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program for multiple project teams and construction sites. Responsibilities include planning, leading, and managing the implementation of Zero Injury Safety Program elements and initiatives throughout the operating group, leading and supporting safety program collaboration across multiple organizations, conducting and reviewing site hazard assessments, developing, scheduling, and conducting safety training, overseeing project documentation, tracking, and analysis of all Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics, trend analyses, and OSHA reports, monitoring onsite construction activities through audits and observations, leading incident reporting, investigation, and analysis, providing professional direction and mentorship to Safety staff, maintaining operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards, regulations, and procedures, and supporting the operating group safety director and safety leadership team in achieving and maintaining safety performance metrics. Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field OR high school diploma plus CHST, OSHA 500, minimum 14 years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work, at least eight years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing large project / multi-project safety program, conducting hazard analyses, developing controls, and conducting safety training, experience working on large, complex projects with a high volume of subcontractor workers, managing a team of safety professionals preferred, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred, organizational and computer skills to support multiple project teams, acting as regional / market safety lead where appropriate, positive and professional attitude, strong customer service skills, and ability to interpret and communicate company policies, effective public speaking and presentation skills, strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, ability to coach and influence operating group and project leaders in safety management, active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback, willingness to travel, knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action Plans, and valid driver's license.
