Summary :
We are seeking a passionate and skilled art teacher to join our team at Endeavour. As a middle school art teacher, you will be responsible for teaching art to students in grades 6-8, helping them develop their artistic skills and creativity.
This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to education, a love of art, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Responsibilities :
Develop and implement art curriculum that aligns with state standards and meets the needs of students at different skill levels.
Teach students the fundamentals of art, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.
Encourage creativity and self-expression in students by providing opportunities for them to explore different art forms and techniques.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students on their artwork, helping them improve their skills and develop their own unique style.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and respect for all students.
Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into other subject areas, such as history, science, and math.
Participate in school events and activities, such as art shows and community outreach programs.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their childs performance.
Requirements :
Bachelors degree in art education or a related field.
Valid teaching certification in art education. LQ Endorsement and additional endorsement preferred
Experience teaching art to middle school students.
Strong knowledge of art history, techniques, and mediums.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students to learn and develop their artistic skills.
Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of different learners and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Terms of Employment :
School year as defined in the written agreement between the New Haven Board of Education and the New Haven Education Association.
EVALUATION : Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy of the Board of Education and Administrative Guidelines
