Slow Fox Dance Halls are fun, community-focused dance studios and venues for adults and teenagers in the northern Bay Area.

At Slow Fox, we believe that anyone, from any walk of life, can benefit from dance. We specialize in partnered dances, including the social dances (dances still alive in the community, such as salsa, tango, country, and swing), and ballroom dances (more technical, structured partnered dances such as waltz, rumba, and foxtrot), but beyond that we specialize in spreading the positive impact of social dancing to the widest possible audience.

Our studios work within the community to promote dance opportunities, such as performances, graduations, parties, and competitions, as well as to create personalized programs to cater to each individual dancer’s goals.

Job Overview :

Full-time position (32-40 hrs / wk)

We are seeking fun, witty, and upbeat Front Desk staff members to assist our team of dancers with scheduling, student tuition, and organizational tasks.

Administrative experience is a plus, but not required much more important is attention to detail, self-motivation, and a bubbly personality! Our office staff are central to the smooth operation of the studio.

They create the first impression that new students experience walking into Topline, and are crucial to studio culture. The office staff bring balance and organization to the team, and are invaluable team members!

Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Canva, and Dropbox
  • Professional communication via email or text using proper spelling and grammar
  • Professional communication in person and over the phone using an active and professional voice
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks by importance
  • Good team connection and synergy

Responsibilities :

Be kind, friendly, and professional to all students. Get to know them. Greet them by name, and say goodbye whenever they leave.

Help create and nurture a friendly, fun, and welcoming atmosphere in the studio.

  • Be supportive to the teachers. Help keep them organized and on schedule, and always be interruptible to check out what their students are working on, and to cheer them on.
  • Be helpful to management. Ask what you can help them with, and be prepared to take quick to-do notes.
  • Manage studio organization. This includes :
  • Keeping supplies stocked and organized
  • Keeping the studio clean, sanitized, and professional
  • Pulling student charts for the day, and filing them out in the evening
  • Keeping studio printables stocked
  • Reminding students to sign in for group class
  • Checking daily that each private lesson is properly recorded
  • Manage the studio schedule. This includes :
  • Sending confirmation texts / emails for next-day lessons
  • Keeping instructors informed about their schedule during their call times
  • Keeping executives informed of cancellations and critical information
  • Scheduling standing appointments for students
  • Taking payments, writing enrollments, and writing receipts
  • Assist with social media, including basic Instagram posts and video content

Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. All office staff are offered a complimentary private lesson each week, and a family & friends discount on additional weekly lessons.

Administrative Assistants are eligible for teacher training or office manager training after 6 months. We evaluate potential raises every six months.
