Position : Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Overview :
A global manufacturer is seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety and environmental initiatives across two large production facilities in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping a strong safety culture, driving compliance, and mentoring a skilled onsite HSE team.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on leadership in heavy manufacturing, strong technical expertise in environmental and safety compliance (including Title V), and a servant leadership approach that inspires accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional HSE team, including an HSE Engineering Specialist, HSE Coordinator, Environmental Engineer, and Safety Supervisor.
- Provide strategic direction for all HSE programs across two Wisconsin plants to ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a proactive safety culture.
- Serve as the site’s subject matter expert for OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory matters, including air, waste, and water compliance.
- Oversee all aspects of environmental permitting and reporting, including Title V air permit compliance.
- Partner closely with the Plant Manager and the U.S. Senior HSE Manager to align site goals with corporate initiatives.
- Review, update, and implement policies, procedures, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Manage ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 programs and audits.
- Drive behavioral safety initiatives and ensure the successful implementation of global HSE programs.
- Develop, manage, and report on key safety metrics, objectives, and budget performance.
- Lead training initiatives to build team proficiency and awareness in safety and environmental standards.
- Coordinate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Engage directly with leadership to drive continuous improvement and sustainability goals across all operations.
Requirements
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related technical field (required).Minimum of 5 years of progressive Health, Safety, and Environmental management experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.Proven leadership experience managing and developing professional HSE staff.Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and state-level regulatory requirements.Experience working in a Title V facility and with air, waste, and water compliance programs.Prior experience managing or maintaining ISO 14001, 45001, and / or 50001 systems.Demonstrated success in fostering a culture of servant leadership and continuous improvement.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.Certifications such as OSHA 10 / 30, OSHA 500, ASP, or CSP preferred.Why This Role Stands Out :
