Role and Responsibilities

The Mechanical Designer role is a core role in the Sapience Engineering team. Responsibilities include :

• Designing machines, robotic end-of-arm tools, fixtures, & stands for automation systems.
• Designing and documenting the mechanical layout of the automation system.
• When required, testing prototype designs of equipment
• Creating drawing packages for system installations· Creating manufacturing drawing packages for fabrication vendor· Providing remote support to Sapience team members on site for troubleshooting systems
• Occasionally, travelling to customer sites to assist with installation design and project support

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Proficient in Solidworks & AutoCAD
• 3+ years of experience in the automation industry
• Experience in machine design and robot end effectors
• Post high-school degree in a technical discipline
• Strong written and spoken language skills
• Proficient on PCs and Microsoft Office applications
