• The primary responsibility is to manage Web Sphere, especially legacy middleware systems.
• Prior experience with Web Sphere upgrades is essential.
• Linux knowledge is crucial due to its significant role in the job.
• Familiarity with MQ is beneficial but not a strict requirement.
• Expectation for potential future upgrades and configuration changes, including familiarity with the Web Sphere Administration console.
• DevOps experience, especially with Jenkins and puppet, is beneficial.
• Understanding of CICD processes to assist developers.
• The team does not deal with vendor applications; the focus is on in-house code deployment.
• The candidate will be part of a team of 28, working closely with a subset of 10, which includes management, developers, application support engineers, and a business analyst. The team will eventually have an architect.
