Position Overview

The position is responsible for the day-to-day technical and scientific operation of the laboratory and other duties as delegated by the Medical Director. It provides overall operation, leadership, direction, and administration of the Clinical Laboratories in accordance with CAP, Federal, and State regulations governing clinical laboratories. This position reports to the VP of Lab Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee operational and strategic objectives for the clinical laboratory.
• Manage laboratory lanes to budget through cost savings and productivity monitoring.
• Monitor and utilize data to evaluate and drive business decisions for capital and teammate resources.
• Standardize and ensure policy and procedures are current for services at lab locations and meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate communication between business lanes and shifts and across departments.
• Oversee the development and / or expansion of service lines and projects for long-term planning for internal and external business opportunities.
• Provide leadership to clinical lab teams, including mentoring and developing leaders and emerging talent.
• Ensure quality control and quality assurance programs are established and maintained to assure quality of laboratory services provided.
• Ensure good customer relations for internal and external customers, resolving problems in a timely manner.
