Part-Time Kitchen Coordinator (Logansport)

Hourly Rate : $16.00 / per hour

Job Description :

As the Kitchen Coordinator you will supervise the kitchen volunteers, plan menus, purchase grocery items for meals, fill in for the cook as needed, assist in the preparation of meals, assist in serving community meals, ensure the kitchen is cleaned daily, solicit community donations, and ensure that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do :

• Supervise kitchen volunteers
• Purchase community meal grocery items
• Plan community meal menus
• Prepare food for the next day so menu items are ready to be prepared, cooked and served
• Solicit community food donations
• Fill in as the cook as needed
• Assist with serving community meals
• Ensure the kitchen is cleaned daily to meet OSHA standards
• Keep the Major informed of any kitchen repairs which are needed
• Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications : The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and / or abilities required for this position.

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent

Background Checks : Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience : Kitchen coordination and food preparation experience is preferred.

Certifications : Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Skills / Abilities :

Supervisory Responsibility : Basic coordination of volunteers.
