Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) is seeking a System Engineer with experience and knowledge of NASA Communication and Navigation system integration for the NASA Artemis missions. Artemis is a series of missions to the Moon. This system engineering specialist will provide engineering services for the NASA Moon to Mars (M2M) Program Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Office.
The M2M SE&I team is responsible for the integration of the Artemis missions that consist of the Space Launch System (SLS), Orion Spacecraft, Human Landing System (HLS), Extravehicular Activity and Human Mobility Program (EHP), ground systems and operations, payloads, the cis-Lunar Gateway platform, flight operations, and in-space and ground communication systems. The Communication / Navigation Specialist will interact with the Integrated Communication and Navigation (ICAN) team to develop and maintain the Communication / Navigation architecture that is capable of safely, effectively and efficiently meeting Artemis mission objectives. Also, coordination with program phase leads to integrate requirements and information across the M2M organization and the Artemis segments as part of the greater Communications, Network, Tracking and Positioning, Navigation and Timing Team

The overall task requires some knowledge of Artemis and experience in systems engineering, a background in the field of communications and navigation, integration skills, and the ability to lead task activities. The position may require deriving requirements, review of requirement specifications, and building interface control documents. The leadership aspect of the job includes planning and organizing technical meetings, conducting effective meetings, strong skills in one or more engineering disciplines, driving change if needed with a focus on results, and ability to collaborate with SMEs of various skill levels and knowledge.
