We are looking for a skilled Billing Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes while maintaining effective communication with clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of billing systems and practices.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and compile monthly billing statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Review and edit pre-bills in response to staff requests, implementing necessary adjustments.
- Apply funds and process write-offs in accordance with company policies.
- Generate complex bills in a timely and precise manner.
- Process charges such as employee personal expenses and service fees with accuracy.
- Coordinate prospective number assignments and assist with billing-related inquiries.
- Maintain organized hard-copy and electronic files, ensuring they are current and compliant with company policies.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to provide support during absences or high workload periods.
- Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word to enhance billing and reporting processes.
Requirements :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing or accounting functions within a detail-oriented services environment.Proficiency in billing software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Ability to handle high volumes of billing tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively and courteously.Solid understanding of billing practices and procedures, including write-offs and collections.Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines effectively.Commitment to maintaining high standard of conduct in all aspects of work.
