Tax Manager – Based in Dallas, TX
24 Hour Flood Pros and Gurr Brothers Construction is a national leader in the restoration, mitigation, contents packout and storage, and full reconstruction with over 100 locations. We are seeking a hungry, humble, and smart Tax Manager to join our Finance and Accounting team.
Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Act as the company-wide lead for all tax-related matters including federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales / use tax, and property tax filings across 30+ states
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments
- Manage annual tax provision process in accordance with GAAP, including deferred tax calculations
Tax Strategy & Planning
Identify and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s effective tax rate and cash flowAdvise leadership on implications of business transactions, acquisitions, and expansionsMonitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess potential impact on the businessAudit & Risk Management
Serve as primary contact for federal, state, and local tax audits, examinations, and inquiriesDevelop processes to ensure compliance and reduce exposure to penalties and interestMaintain strong internal controls and documentation supporting tax positionsFinancial Close & Analysis Support
Partner with the Controller and Finance team to support month-end close activitiesAssist in preparing consolidated financial statementsProvide financial analysis on trends, tax impacts, and operational performance to support decision-makingSupport special projects such as acquisitions and private equity partnershipCollaboration & Leadership
Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate tax accounting and reportingSupport cross-functional teams with tax-related guidance on contracts, real estate, payroll, and vendor agreementsManage external tax advisors, consultants, and technology providersBenefits

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree is a plus) and at least 3 years of experience of progressive tax experienceCPA is a plusExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysisStrong communication skills and experience working with C-suite executivesHigh level of responsiveness and professionalismProficiency in ERP Systems, Google Suite, PowerBI, and other data visualization toolsAdvanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
