Summary

In this position you will be jointly responsible for the performance of molecular testing within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and / or RNA extractions, you will perform molecular analyses utilizing the latest technologies, like Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized molecular analysis of varying complexity and on different platforms
• Control the operation of the analyzers, signaling of malfunctions, required maintenance, and the ability to assist in system troubleshooting
• Monitor the lab processes and the registration of data in the lab information management system (LIMS)
• Prepare the analysis, instrument devices, and the sample according to the procedure
• Accurately document the lab work performed
• Assist with data interpretation
• Adhere to laboratory’s quality control policies (GCP, CAP / CLIA, ISO)  and document all quality control activities accurately, systematically and with the ability to recognize outliers and correct them
• Manage inventory levels and supply ordering within the department
• Disposes of hazardous chemical wastes per regulatory guidelines
