Support learning environments by providing vital classroom assistance during staff absences. This on-call opportunity allows for flexibility while contributing directly to student development in educational settings. Substitute paraprofessionals provide support to students with a variety of learning, behavioral, or physical needs across different grade levels.
Preferred Qualifications or Experience :
Experience working with children or youth in educational or childcare settings
High school diploma or equivalent (some districts may require 48 college credits or paraprofessional certification)
Familiarity with special education or one-on-one instructional support
Ability to follow teacher or site staff direction and manage classroom routines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities :
Assist students with classwork, group activities, or individualized instruction
Provide support during transitions, meals, and outdoor activities
Follow behavior management plans and safety protocols
Support students with special needs in academic, social, or self-care tasks
Document daily observations or assist in progress tracking as requested
Flexible assignments may occur in general or special education classrooms across multiple grade levels depending on site need. Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism are essential.
