Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 16 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position requiring AZ or compact RN licensure and proficiency in basic tele strip interpretation. Responsibilities Work in an acute care Med / Surg Tele unit with 48 beds split across two sub-units Patient population includes COVID, respiratory, gastrointestinal, diabetes, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical cases Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5 12-hour day shifts from 7 : 00 am to 7 : 30 pm with every other weekend required Floating may be required to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified Uses Cerner EMR; prior experience recommended due to limited orientation Bipap, Cpap, high flow, and some respiratory treatments are utilized on the unit Navy blue scrubs required RNs do not titrate drips; diltiazem may be administered at set rates Tele monitoring is handled remotely with monitor techs providing readings; RNs are responsible for interpretation and documentation Support available from charge nurses (who do not take a patient load) and nurse aides with a 1 : 10-15 ratio Orientation includes one 12-hour shift specific to the unit Weekend requirement is two weekends per 4-week schedule Holiday coverage is required, including combinations of days and evenings for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility if applying from specific states (AZ, NV, NE, IA, MN), determined by driver's license Passing a Relias Dysrhythmia exam and a sterile technique test on orientation is required for Arizona candidates Candidates must not have been employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of RN experience in acute care or Med / Surg Tele setting Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Experience reading basic tele strips and providing care for general and orthopedic surgical, TIA, and CVA patients Ability to interpret telemetry strips and sign documentation at least once per shift Cerner EMR experience strongly recommended Minimum of one professional supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one additional peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-640791.
