Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Community Relations, this position plays a key role in connecting the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) with the communities it serves. The Assistant Manager helps lead the Community Relations Office by supporting staff, fostering community partnerships, analyzing and communicating data, and guiding engagement efforts that build trust, understanding, and collaboration.
This leadership and supervisory role is part of the Stakeholder Engagement Department, within the Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement Division. The department connects the MAC to the community by designing and implementing best-in-class engagements and serving as the organization's personal connection across communities. The division functions as an in-house team serving as stewards of strategy, developing strategic communications and creating stakeholder champions to ensure the organization delivers on its purpose, values and strategic goals.
The role blends people leadership, community outreach, and effective communication with the ability to interpret and convey technical information, such as aircraft operations and noise, in a way that is approachable and easy to understand. The Assistant Manager represents the MAC at public meetings, advisory groups, and community events, serving as a key ambassador for the organization. This role also conducts data analyses, develops specialized reports and analyzes geospatial information related to aircraft operations and noise.

Community Engagement and Communications
Assist the Manager, Community Relations in executing engagement opportunities in support of the department's annual planDevelop and maintain strong relationships and exchange information with community groups, city and township governmental representatives, regulating agencies and other stakeholders to inform decision makingServe as the assistant technical advisor to the MSP Noise Oversight Committee (NOC), which entails preparing and presenting technical information at public meetings; assisting with the development and execution of the annual work plan; preparing and distributing analyses; preparing and reviewing agendas, memos and meeting minutesPlan the strategy and format of quarterly NOC Listening Sessions and facilitate the meeting as the subject matter expert on noise issues for the MACAssist in the development of the MSP Annual Noise Contour Report in accordance with MAC's legal requirementsAssist in ensuring website content, collateral, meeting presentations and other communications related to noise and community relations is fresh, accurate and user-friendlyAttend meetings and conduct outreach to external-facing groups, such as city and community leaders, community airport relation commissions, FAA air traffic personnel, industry pilot groups and regulating agencies to assess and understand local community dynamics and key issues affecting MAC and its airportsOversee and provide guidance on the administration of reliever airport advisory groups and pilot education programsSupport creative ways to engage and educate the public and community leaders to communicate the MAC brand with a focus on the broader community benefits of airportsSupport ongoing tracking and impact measurement of youth engagement activities across the organizationAssist with completion of airport planning and environmental analysis and documentation and execution of associated engagement programsPeople Leadership

This position provides an opportunity for on-site and remote work. MAC's remote work policy requires employees to be on-site three days of the week. Among the three on-site days, one of them must be either a Monday or a Friday and on Tuesdays, all employees are required to be onsite.
