Overview

The CAES Advanced Program Development (APD) line of business is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer to add to our Team. You will work collaboratively with other Electrical Design Engineers on new product development and product improvement projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes design, analysis, and all aspects of project engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Positive, self-motivated, and ability to work within a team of engineers.
• Willingness to learn all phases of product development from inception through production (architecture, design, programming, debug, test, and documentation).
• Knowledge of at least one - and a desire to learn several - of the following areas: hardware, software, FPGA design, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), and other areas of electrical engineering.
• Design, simulate, integrate, and test digital functions and sub-systems into
• Write embedded software for a variety of micro-controllers
• Write VHDL for FPGA designs.
• Design digital hardware to interface with real-time and closed-loop Electronic Warfare subsystems to meet operationally relevant system goals.
• Learn and use engineering tools for new product development.
• Develop microcontroller and FPGA designs for multi-board control applications.
• Design and create communication interfaces between equipment and the user.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of experience.
• Experience in electronic product design (PCB, layout, software, firmware (VHDL) and development.
• Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes/meters/logic analyzer).
• This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
• Use of Altium tool set.
• Experience with prototype assembly, turn-on, and debug in a laboratory environment.
• Experience taking a design from concept to production, including characterization of designs.
• Knowledge of high-speed digital and or analog design.
• Knowledge of PCI Express and Ethernet.
• Experience with DFx practices.
• Knowledge of radar, EW/ELINT/SIGINT and communications are a plus.
• Systems Engineering and/or RF experience is also highly desired.

Salary Range: $83,500 - $109,500 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as business results.
