Location : Remote Job Summary The STEPS Human Resources Job Classification Expert Practitioner is a seasoned professional who specializes in job classification and ensures that positions within an organization are accurately categorized. You will be required to :
- Play a critical role in maintaining consistency, equity, and compliance with organizational policies and external regulations.
- Conduct job analysis and evaluation to determine the appropriate classification of positions. Develop and maintain job descriptions, ensuring they accurately reflect the responsibilities, qualifications, and competencies required for each role.
- Collaborate with HR teams, managers, and subject-matter experts to review and update job classifications as needed. Interpret and apply classification standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Provide guidance to HR staff, managers, and employees regarding job classification matters.
- Participate in compensation studies and salary benchmarking to ensure competitive pay structures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of higher-education and healthcare trends, legal changes, and best practices related to job classification.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, BusinessAdministration, or a related field (advanced degrees orcertifications are advantageous).
- Prefer five to seven years of experience in job classification,preferably in a large organization or government agency.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to jobclassification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and provide expert advice tostakeholders.
- Effective communication with HR teams, managers, andemployees. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
