Material Handler

About the Role

The Material Handler will be responsible for the unloading, loading, and handling of inbound and outbound commodity product at the Goodland Crush facility. This role will move, weigh, and load railcars and will load trucks with various finished products and by-products produced by the plant. Material Handlers will complete required paperwork for each load.

• Safely load and off load trucks and railcars at the facility.

• Follow official sampling procedures set forth by Scoular.

• Execute the official weighing of railcars and trucks as necessary.

• Complete logs of daily loading and unloading.

• Have knowledge of all processes in the facility.

• Perform minor maintenance within the department.
• Assure appropriate communications with peers, superiors, and customers.
• Maintain plant safety, sanitation and work rules at all times.

• Maintain accurate inventories.

• Train other employees as required on process and safety operations to become proficient in all areas.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

About You

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Ability to operate various types of machinery, required
• Ability to look at computer screens for a long period of time
• Must have good communication skills, be self-motivated and willing to accept change. Must be team oriented and have the desire to excel.
• To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Good communication & written skillsBasic computer skillsAbility to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditionsAbility to work in loud noise environmentsAbility to work in dusty environmentsAbility to work in elevated areas above 4 feet when necessary and in confined spacesAbility to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting of up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safelyAbility to adhere to all PPE policies

Preferred

• 2 or more years of work experience at an oilseed crush plant preferred.
