Join us as a Facilities Maintenance Tech in our location in Sanford, NC facility.

As a Facilities Maintenance Tech you will use your knowledge, skills, and effort to safely install, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. You will also utilize preventative maintenance processes on all production equipment to maintain minimal interruptions to production. You will participate in LEAN activities including but not limited to kaizens, RCCM, 5-whys, and A3s to improve downtime trends and reduce cost. In addition, you will work with limited supervision and assist with the training and development of Junior Techs.

• The anticipated hourly pay for this role is: $27.00 hr. Or based on experience. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be determined by considering demonstrable level of experience, skills, knowledge, and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all Pentair and department policies and procedures.
• Complete all assigned tasks in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
• Work regular schedule and overtime when requested.
• Improve skills and increase knowledge relating to the job.

• Train others.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Full ability to read and communicate in English
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience as a maintenance or industrial tech
• Full ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, and reach with hands and arms
• Full knowledge of safe work practices including but not limited to:Hazardous materials awareness with OSHA’s Right-to-Know standard.Fork truck /PIT certifiedPPE requirementsFire safetyLockout/Tagout procedureHot work procedure
• Full ability to read mechanical blueprints.
• Full ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
• Intermediate to full ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment.
• Basic familiarity with robotics, PLCs and other computer driven equipment and can troubleshoot basic issues.
• Ability to perform PMs, troubleshoot failures and implement repairs.
• Intermediate to full ability to identify root causes and make recommendations for improved operation.
• Full ability to operate maintenance equipment including hand and power tools.
• Full computer skills to use Smart Maintenance CMMS.
• Successfully attended, passed, or demonstrated the equivalent knowledge or skill level of at least three of the following courses/certifications/licenses:DC/AC Electricity, high voltage paneling, or other electrical including an Electrician’s license.Manual or CNC machining or machinist apprenticeshipWeldingHVACPLC, controls, or mechatronicsHydraulics/PneumaticsMotors and ControlsAutoCADInjection MoldingOther pre-approved, job-related activity
• Ensures effective communication between shifts and team by following documentation procedures and standards.

Position hours/shifts:

1st Shift: 6:00 am to 2:30pm, Monday through Fri (Plus overtime and weekends if needed)

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting, and lowering weights up to 50lbs. Steel toed shoes are required on the distribution floor.
